DESIGNER ELSA STACKELBERG

She was beautiful, stubborn and fearless.Elsa Stackelberg was the countess who loved to dance, fool around, and surround herself with beautiful things. Her creativity took various forms throughout her life and when Prince Bertil discovered her first deck chair at the Norrköping exhibition, NU64, it was the starting point for the company Fri Form and for Elsa as a furniture designer.

 

Elsa Stackelberg started the company together with her husband Count Benny Stackelberg in the early 1960s. The production was for all years in a barn at Stensnäs manor, where the couple also lived. Elsa designed the furniture and had many and long discussions with the designers about the possibility of producing her ideas.She had a definite idea of what was beautiful and aesthetic, otherwise it had to be. The material choices were important, everything had to be of the highest quality. Elsa's design was based on her own taste. Clean lines, no frills.

 

The classic and stylish outdoor furniture is made for a gentleman's seat. They bring with them a breath of the good life, which is the colorful Countess Stackelberg's legacy to future generations.
